it's the same bottom end? I've read the 4G64 is a wide bloc engine, but same thing for 2.4 turbo?

can I bolt on a 2.4l turbo from PT cruiser to my Ram 50 tranny (automatic)??

I've read I could use a 4G64 for my Ram 50... do some search on web and I've read the 4g64 was putt in stratus, cirrus and sebring and I know the 2.4 in those model are the same as neon and pt... If it's right I expect is the same for turbo engine...

I don't have the answer, but I would bet $1 that Ryan or Walt does. If I was to guess, I would say that the 4G64 in the Pt cruiser would be a wideblock, which would be the same transmission as a 2.6L ram 50. But, I'd wait for the other guys to answer, they know those engines better than I probably do.

The neon and pt cruiser stuff aren't in the same engine family. None of it is interchangeable

Wait a minute, I actually know more about these than I thought. The 99+ Eclipse/Galant 2.4L's are 4G64's, but are definitely different than the 1990-98 ones. As Ryan said, its a diff family. There isn't a rwd transmission that bolts up to those newer ones as far as I know. They are similar to the Evo engines where the intake is on the passenger side and exhaust is on the driver side (rwd speaking).

I'd have to see picture of the trans pan to verify. The tranny would be what they call a baby904 if it bolts up to a 4g63. If you want to use the newer style engine you will need a billhousing adapter from bill Hincher and you won't be using your current trans.

There is a mitsubishi version of 2.0l/2.4l swaps and a chrysler version. You can take a 2.0l 4g63 head and put it on a 2.4l 4g64 block because they are mitsubishi. You can do the same thing with the chrysler engines which is not as common. Some of the non turbo 95-99 talon, eclipse, avengers came with the 2.0l 420a (chrysler engine). You can take a 95-99 2.4l EDZ block from a dodge stratus, sebring, cirris, same dimensions at a SRT4 and put SRT4 internals in it with the 2.0L DOHC 420a head and turbo it. You can not interchange mitsubishi and chrysler engine parts. As knuckshaft
already said.
