Any of you 'gadget' guru's have any good advise on these?

I'm almost finished building the 318 for the blue max and all I found for tranny's was USED 42-46rh's and most likely would need a
high dollar rebuild. So I found a NV3500/clutch/flywheel from a 2000 Dakota. The yard lets you pull your parts but, the vehicles are all on the ground with no wheels on them.
I noticed that the master and slave were already gone but still got it.. Well, Had to pay before they pulled it for me. (and have a 30% restocking fee)
Well, after I got it home, noticed that the speedo boss isn't finished and uses a computer to read speed..

I really don't feel like giving them 120.00 and taking the trans back.
I called a few trans shops here and they say to swap the parts needed to run a 'cable' speedo would be expensive (needs a couple of special tools) and to look into a GPS that shows a heads up display.

Never really heard of them aftermarket wise, only on some of the GM offerings.

SO, have any of you guys or gals had any experience with these?
They look fairly cheap, but I won't have my usual cluster working like I'm used to..

What are your thoughts?

Sadly - I have no good input on this. I think I would probably do some mad science and mate the newer cluster to the old one and get the speedo working. But I often do 100x the work for 1% more happiness.

Get a dash GPS and report back to us? :)
