I will definitely stay tuned to this.
I hope you can find a solution soon.
I will check rockauto out, thanks.

Threw the trans back in. Installed a 5/8" spacer inserted between the firewall and the rubber insert. Truck is back to shifting like butter again. I think I'll add a bit more to it, such that I have some room to grow with the adjuster.

Mine used to have a ton of play there too. I built a custom bracket on the trans end that took up a lot of that slack. Then I swapped to hydraulic, and the world has been a better place.

Don't still have that bracket do ya? Might be a bit nicer than what I'm using.

hmmm. I can take a look. I have no clue where it landed when I swapped to my hydraulic system years ago. I will let you know if I find it in the next 24 hours though.

So why can’t we use the factory 2.0 mighty max flywheel with a mighty max 2.0 clutch kit from centerforce?

Solid question. It might work, though I'm not 100% sure. I think the reason I went with the DSM stuff was because there were more clutch options for the FWD DSM 6-bolt flywheel at the time. Finding a mightymax clutch that could handle 300+ hp and tq was not easy back in the early 2000's. Try it and let us know!

Guess I’ll try it, hope I don’t waste $400 on a clutch that won’t work though.
