Speed density fully works on my truck. I am using ecmlink v3lite. I am going to upgrade to the full deal soon though. It's really not bad to do. With a good 3 bar, it just takes minor adjustments to make work.

OK, so speed density is about computing air volume/
CFM that kind of thing. what about the ECU does that stay stock or is there modification, or piggyback involved?

also wondering about "stand alone management". what exactly does that mean? i got a buddy offering me a MEGASQUIRT brand spankin new for a hundred bucks, which is about what I'm finding a stock ECU selling for. the MEGASQUIRT has never been used, in fact its never even been put together. he's just had it for a while and is willing to sell it cheap. his thoughts are that it would be easier to deal with than hacking up a stock DSM harness, especially for a rookie like me(wires are printed right on the insulation what they plug into).lol another cool thing, the MEGA-SQUIRT has a MAP sensor directly in the ECU case, i just run a vacuum line to it. no MAF sensor needed right?

i seem to recall seeing someone on here running a MEGA-SQUIRT hmm....

CQDX mechanically wise wielders of knowledge. QRT and standing by. lol.

So I've searched a lot, but I just haven't been able to find a straight answer to this.
I wired a 3bar GM MAP sensor in place of my MAF (1g ecu), and with the help of K.Jewer, realized the sensor was bad (signal 4.97v with the engine off, as well as idling). My question is, the few threads i could find on hard wiring a MAP in place of the MAF on a 1g, none of them address what to do with the unused wires from tha MAF (don't remember them all off the top of my head; i do remember one was a 12v hot off the MPI to heat the element in the MAF). I ran the 5v to the supply wire on the MAP, share the ground wire with the GM IAT(which seems to be functioning fine, btw), and the 'baro' wire to the 'signal' wire on the MAP. The other wires i just taped up and tucked into the wiring loom.

I have since returned the bad sensor and ordered a genuine GM un8t from MAPerformance, but i just want to make sure i wasn't supposed to wire it up differently.
