Ok,
I was considering a Ford 8.8 Swap under the back of my Truck to get some more speed out of it this year. Then somebody at the now defunct Mighty Ram50 PM's me about a 6 Speed 3000GT ring gear with a 3.3 ratio says it's supposed to fit. Long story short, I ended up here and Spicoli is actually mentioning me in a post about it over a year ago... go figure.

Well, I'm still trying to confirm this "rumor" Here's some details...

The MM rear ends Ring gear P/N MB185461= 3.909
P/N MB185460=3.545

The P/N of the 3000GT rear Ring Gear is MB 185450= 3.307... I see a Pattern in the P/N and I know Mitsubishi's love of re-using parts from one line in another so they don't re-invent the wheel.
So, I resurrect the discussion from the LSD thread. does anyone know for sure, anything about this Myth?

I'll check in ASA, but I'd think that ring gear would work, based on the numeric pattern. You will also need the pinion though.

Some people never have anything except ideas. Go do it.
Emissions & fuel economy haven't exactly been areas of strength for past rotary power plants, but absolutely no one with a soul has ever cared.

ASA confirms it to be useable in a 4x4 mightymax, I'd see if you could find a set to check!

Oh, and try MB185450 if you want the ultra-awesome 3.307 ring and pinion kit for the mitsu rear end. Came from the 6-speed 3000GT.

Mitsparts.com shows it on sale for $522.64. If you're serious, I'd get one before you can't. Heck, get 2, in case you strip a set!

oh, some more info.
MB185460 fit in K13T 2wd long-bed mightymaxes from 88 to 89 according to ASA
So MB185460 is a 100% CONFIRMED fit in the stock 2wd rear-end.

MB185450 was in Z15A and Z16A 300GT's, no other application shown in the US spec, I'm looking in gen and jap right now.

MB241979 is also shown as a 3.545 rear for European Z16A 300GT's, this muddles the water a bit...

I'd say stick with the MB185460 3.545's for now, since they are confirmed to be for a mm truck application.
New set from Mitsparts.com is $410.22 right now.

mitsparts.com? It's Cherry Hill Triplex's online parts store.

I was using Mitsubishi ASA in a VM to actually look up and cross-reference the parts, I was just quoting the current prices off mitsparts.

Yes it is a small world. 300D50, thanks for the compatibility work, I've been trolling CAPS and found about the same. A nice thing CAPS tells you is the stuff a P/N is used on. the bad thing is that only where Mitsubishi used it, not necessarily everywhere it fits. has anyone else noticed the lack if Differential repair manuals? I can find engine manuals( need one?) Tranny manuals etc... not much on rear ends.
