Looks good, sounds like you need to powder coat them.

Sold my VW overseas and had to deliver to Jacksonville port. First time pulling a trailer with the truck...all I can say is it pulled great, only lowered rear of truck 1/2". Still managed 22 mpg..... loving it.

I had the VW for 10 years and wanted another project, so something had to go

It had a 2176cc with turbo and a 5 speed gear box.

Holy hell. Do you have tons of pics of it? I am secretly an aircooled VW enthusiast, and that car deserves its own post on this forum. I must know more.

pictures...oh yeah, I took pictures of everything. It went through many turbo systems (all built by me) from draw through to blow through. It had a stock worn out 1600cc that ran 15.20's, then a 2007cc draw through, both with SU carbs that ran 13's. The latest rendition ran 12.80 @ 105 spinning through 1st and 2nd gear. I just installed the light weight Bogart wheels and M&H cheaters and sold it. It will run easy 12.30's at 9 psi boost. It has a small Mazda CX7 turbo and 40 Dellorto carbs now, so bigger turbo and bigger carbs = full potential, but driveabilty is unbelievable. The car ran 8 spoke Empi wheels, American Libre's and now custom Bogart's power coated black. It has a 2" narrowed front beam, and Berg 5 speed with close ratio 1.48 3rd, 1.04 forth, stock 4th gear 0.89 for 5th gear.

If you like VW's you might get a kick out of this....it was my turbo buggy, built it back in the late 90's, it ran 12.30's with just a 1679cc turbo with SU carb.

Well, I'm sold on your work. You make a mean aircooled VW my friend.

Got some updates on the truck. Rebuilt the front end and installed some dropped spindles found on Craigslist, so front dropped 2" and 3" in the back. Next I installed a set of '05 Silverado wheels with 235/45-15 tires. To install the wheels I drilled the hub's and axles for the 14mm studs to retain the center caps.
