I've kinda run into a big problem with the steering linkage on my 88 max and this Chevy V8.
I utilized a Chevy II (early Nova) oil pan/pickup to help to clear the center link.
BUT, Goofy me DIDN'T measure accurately, just eyeballed it. SO, I was just wondering if the spindle/knuckles can be swapped side to side?
Nevermind that..
OK, what about lengthening the pittman and idler arms and making a sliding shaft that would be mounted to the back of the front crossmember and Hiem joints at the end going toward the attachment points of the tie-rods.

I decided on a Chevy since I have tons of parts for them. Blocks, heads, intakes and tranny's...
I should've gone with a Chrysler 318/overdrive like I want to do to this 86 auto.
I already have a line on a Diplomat with EVERYTHING still attached to engine.

hey, how is the 88 different from the 86?
my 86 has a 305 with 700r4, just notched the rear of the stock pan.
been together for 5 yrs.
chevy II oil pump sticks down too far.
also the engine may be too low in the chassis if the trans tunnel is not altered.

PM'd ya.

Im leaning toward a Honda Nonpower rack welded to tabs behind the cross member.
Welder was giving me fits, so took it in for a contactor.
Should be getting it back later today or next.

Okay, the other(85 D50) project has an Omni manual rack. has to be a rear steer gear. doesn't leave much ground clearance, exhaust can be a problem.
