Yep, Zamp RZ-58, SA2015.

First non-bicycle helmet. It appears to fit right, snug but not too snug, just still feels weird with the weight and all.
Had to trim the cheek fur a bit to reduce the "old lady face pinch" .

If car helmets are the same as bike helmets, you want a bit of face pinch. They say if you can chew gum without biting your cheeks, it's not tight enough. They're all different though, the difference in shapes between brands and even sometimes models is crazy.

I have 4 helmets now, 3 are larges, 2 different brands and they all fit differently. The shoei I just bought is a medium and it's one of the best fitting helmets I've found so far. It's a little noisy but I guess in a car you don't have to worry too much about aero and wind noise hahaha

Is there an "expiration" on car helmets like bike helmets? After 5 years you're supposed to replace it. Even track day orgs won't let you run a helmet over 5yrs old.

SA2015 is the latest Snell SA standard, 2027 expiration date.

SCCA also allows the SA2010 standard, which kicks in 2022, and the M2015/M2010.

It's all a bit new to me, even though I had an SCCA membership till 2016.
My buddy said he was doing an autox event first weekend in May, and I decided I needed to live a little.

Nice save at the end! Looks like tons of fun. Is that a circle track infield you're on?

Haha, yeah, the only thing going through my head is "Don't red flag don't red flag don't red flag, don't screw up the other guys run..."
I left DSC/TC on after that. It never kicked in that I could tell in normal driving of the course, so...
It's the circle track at Lake Erie Speedway in PA.

First ever event I participated in. :)

Here's the course layout.

That looks like so much fun. I want to do that now. What does that event cost to participate in? And do you have to work the corners when other people make runs (AKA fix cones)?

Entry fee was $35 for the day for SCCA members. It varies a bit by region thoug.
There's a "weekend membership" available if you wanted to go that route to test the waters first.

Schedule was run, work the course, then rest period.

Not everyone does cone-run, some people work the flags, handle radio for the cone run groups, etc.

It's a pretty well thought out system.

The SCCA membership fee isn't too big, and comes with a bunch of discount potential as well.

I think they still do sign up referral discounts too.
