I've been shaving with a double edge safety since I sprouted peach fuzz, but never actually cared what blades I used.
Mostly convenience store packs of whatever was available, which isn't squat in the past 10 years...
Last batch was Wilkinson Sword blades, which worked well but seemed to be a bit rough for me.
Got a sampler pack in the mail today, and am going through them one a day, to see how they work for me.
I have 5 each of:
Feather
KAI
Gillette Silver Blue
Personna med-prep
Astra Platinum
BlueBird
I went with Astra today (yes, I shave before I go to bed... Bad habit...), mainly because the KAI and Feather are sharper than I'm used to, and I meeny miney moed the remaining.
The Astra lived up to their reputation of a close shave without burn, except around the upper lip. I've got a distinct itchiness there.
I did have to go over few times, and it definitely tugged a bit on the upper lip (likely why it's itchy...), so I'll have to reevaluate once I've tried the next contender.
Shaving cream was, as always, barbasol original.
So what do you guys use? Any straight razors on the forum?

Emissions & fuel economy haven't exactly been areas of strength for past rotary power plants, but absolutely no one with a soul has ever cared.

Re: Shaving: What blades do you prefer?
I use no shaving cream. It was always more of a hassle than it was worth. I just use the cheap 3 blade razors (store brand). I always start with hair clippers first and get it close. I shave about once a week, but should atleast twice a week to maybe 3 times if I want to keep a semi clean face. I remember when I was younger, couldn't wait to shave, now I don't want to. The older I have gotten the more frequent I need to shave.

I grow hair at an impossibly slow rate, and I don't think I have the capability to grow a beard. It would take years. Needless to say, I stick with the throwaway razors. Mach 2,3,4,5,6,7 - whatever I happen to get cheap. I sometimes wish I could grow a sweet beard so I had an excuse to be a dollar shave club member.

I use the cheap stuff too, whatever I can get in a 10 pack or so. Those 4 blade disposables clog up way to fast so I try to stay with 3 blades or less. Barbasol for shaving Creme also. Normally though, I just trim it down with a set of clippers with no guard.
I shaved today for the first time in around a year or so, got that draft across my chin now, makes me feel like I'm drooling on myself hahaha

Tried the Persona med-prep today, they were ok, but they left a bit more hair than I prefer and tended to tug every few strokes.
One plus is they didn't leave my upper lip itchy.
