Pix and commentary on last year's trial and tribulations...

Everything is back together and waiting to hit the dyno in the spring for a tuneup.

Awesome stuff Mike! So what kind of results are you hoping for in 2013?

Primary goal os to get 165 MPH in the mile, and over 175 MPH at Bonneville. got it the turbo twisted up to 30lbs, I blew the head gasket with a 32lb spike.

Wow. 30psi sounds like a lot for a 4G64. What compression ratio do you currently have?

I accidentally ran 30 psi in my truck once, and it felt like it could have pulled wheelies. It was by far the awesomest my truck has ever performed.

Compression is 10:1, yes it's a handful off the line!

Holy moly. 10:1 at 30 psi must be a beast! You don't still drive it on the street right? Also - can we talk about your transmission? Do you have a write-up of what is going on inside your transmission right now, including clutch info?

I destroyed my original transmission in 2009 at Bonneville, at the end of my run i only had 4th gear, nothing else.
The Transmission shop dropped in a complete new gear set. I also added a Tuff Pan which is basicall a 1/2 inch thick plate for the bottom of the tranny to prevent case flexing.

I went thru 2 clutches before putting in a Quartermaster 7.25 twin disc and customizing the Fidanza Flywheel to make everything fit.

That is beautiful. Is that clutch a custom setup or do you have a real part number for it? If so - want to share it? :)

What kind of RPM are you shifting at during one of these high speed runs? My narrow block KM132 transmission currently has wideblock internals - same as yours, but it has never been great at shifting over about 6000 rpm.
