What's everyone doing for the alternator wiring harness on their rwd setups? That is not a mighty max or station build. I have 1g harness I'm using on my 78 Chevy LUV build with 4G63T. I'm missing how to connect the alternator to my setup, any help if possible.
I did pull and cut alternator harness from the junkyard. I am using a 1g Galant 90amp alternator with jay racing relocation kit.
White with red stripe wires is the ring terminal, red and blue wires is for the connector to alt.

I don't have the 4g63 alternator wiring diagram / schematic with me at the moment, but I can check it tonight for sure

From my memory:
- The two large white wires go to the battery with a large fuse at the battery (very confident in this)
- The blue goes to the battery light in the dash. If you don't have it hooked up, it won't charge. (somewhat confident)
- Red is also power, but it may be key power? (I forget.)

I'll check tonight. Feel free to remind me @hotrodcoffeeshop@gmail.com

So 4g63 alternator wiring - Seems to me:
- Two white wires can be connected to a 80A fuse at the battery
- Yellow (maybe red for you?) can be connected to a 30A fuse at the battery
- Black & White (maybe blue for you?) can be connected to ignition power, through a dummy light in the dash.
----> FYI: The way the #2 pin/circuit works is: normally the alternator sends power out the #2 pin of the connector. That power goes to the dummy (alternator) light on the dash. The other side of that light is from the ignition switch, so both sides of the dummy light have power, which means the light won't turn on. HOWEVER! If your alternator stops working for any reason, the #2 pin defaults to ground, and the dummy light turns on because it has power from your ignition switch, and ground from the alternator. Fun stuff right?

Awesome thanks Jeremy! I almost get it lol. White wires to 80amp fuse then to battery, red wire to 30amp to battery I know how to wire these up now.
But for the dummy light do I connect a 5v or 12v led light that will go on my dash? One wire from led light will go to "blue" wire from alternator harness and other side of led light goes to pin #2 or ignition source? Alternator relay needed, like in the diagram?
Thanks for the help

Honestly, for the sake of fun, I'd try running it without that dash light wire hooked up. If it doesn't charge, then I'd fight your way through it. The light would be 12v.

This is how I believe it is supposed to be wired:

This is what I needed thanks! I will try without led light and go straight to ignition source
