I believe we are currently setting a 100+ year record for coldest temperatures over a 7 day period. It's be between -15 and 10 for like 2 weeks now, and tomorrow we are getting a snow storm.

Walt - whats your climate like? Cold as heck?

Some people never have anything except ideas. Go do it.
Emissions & fuel economy haven't exactly been areas of strength for past rotary power plants, but absolutely no one with a soul has ever cared.

So, this happened today.

Savannah hasn't seen this much snow in my lifetime. I've only seen snow at home once around 95-96, and it wasn't this much.

And yes, the whole city is freaking out. All the stores and restaurants are closed and people are crashing left and right.

Whoa! Weird climate! I wish we only had a dusting like that. I have about 6 inches of snow on my truck right now from previous snow storms and we are getting 8-12 more today. Anybody that could stay home today did because the roads are a disaster. But - I get to work from home today! So thats nice!

No one here knows what snow is like I guess. People are driving way too fast, no one cleans the snow off their cars before driving, all of our bridges are closed because we only have I think 1 salt truck. I got 3/4in snow at home, in town they got more like 3-4 inches. It's all melting now but unfortunately is still super cold so the ice is going to be bad tonight. I'll probably end up sleeping at work.

I'm pretty disappointed really. The forecast said to expect 6-7 inches. So much for that

Whoa! We are supposed to see wind chills of -30 to -40 today and tomorrow, thing are supposed to get back to normal next week. I can wait for 30 degrees. That is the first time I’ve ever said that!

Also - Walt made a donation to the website and it was awesome! Thanks Walt! I’ll do the same as soon as I have a little funding! Then we will be good for a few years.

WOO that's cold. I thought I wanted to move north, but I've changed my mind hahaha

On another note, anyone have experience with ip cameras or setting up a 24hr stream?

I've used OBS Studio to do game streaming to Twitch and Jason before.
As far as IP cameras, they can be hit and miss, so best to do some research before hand.

The harbor freight/sams club/BJ's systems are invariably low quality and prone to issues.

I've installed AXIS brand ones when I was subcontracting, and they were reasonable price for the performance.

Supposedly we're in for more snow next week I think. We'll see what happens.

So we had two 50-60 degree days last week, and it is 8 degrees right now.

That being said, I'm tired of not working on my stuff. So next weekend, I'm going to somehow stuff my Lemans into my garage, which it absolutely won't fit in. I have no clue how I will do it, but both my Impala and Lemans will be in my garage. Somehow. I likely won't have space to walk next to, or between them, or open doors, but at least I can jack up the Lemans and work on the engine swap throughout the winter. Being miserable working on cars because there is no space around them is better than being miserable staring at my car buried in a snowbank.

What are you guys using for shop lights? I have 3 8ft dual bulb fluorescent light fixtures in my garage that all either need repaired or replaced. They put out a great amount of light when they work properly. I'm thinking about replacing them with leds but I'm worried about it not being enough light.
